The length of your surgery and recovery period can vary, so we cannot provide an exact duration. For cataract surgery, the entire visit—from arrival to departure—usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. As a general guideline, surgical patients typically spend 15 minutes in recovery after their procedure. We advise that your driver remain at the facility during this time. Please consult your physician for more specific details about your procedure time.

One support person may stay with the patient, if necessary, up until the procedure begins. Your nurse will inform your support person when it is time to go to the designated waiting area.
