How Do I Access One Medical Passport to Complete My Pre-Procedure Questionnaire?Your surgeons office will provide you with a handout outlining registration for this ONLINE CLINICAL HISTORY after you have been scheduled for surgery. You may also receive a phone call, email or text from One Medical Passport to help with this important task.

Are My Doctor’s Fees Included in The Eye Surgery Center’s Bill?You will receive different bills from different sources: The Eye Surgery Center facility bill, your surgeon bill and an anesthesia bill. For more information, please visit our BILLING page.

Will I Have the Opportunity to Speak with an Anesthesiologist Before My Procedure?Yes, you will meet with your anesthesiologist during the pre-operative phase. Together, you will review the anesthesia plan and discuss any health concerns or past experiences that may be relevant.

How Long Will My Outpatient Procedure Take?The length of your surgery and recovery period can vary, so we cannot provide an exact duration. As a general guideline, surgical patients typically spend 15 minutes in recovery after their procedure. For cataract surgery, the entire visit—from arrival to departure—usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. We advise that your driver remain at the facility during this time. Please consult your physician for more specific details about your procedure time.

What Should I Bring on the Day of My Surgery?Please bring your insurance information and a valid ID on the day of your surgery. Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing, and leave all valuables and jewelry at home.

Can My Family Stay with Me Before, During, or After the Procedure?Family members will receive text updates on the patient’s progress as they move through the preoperative, operating room, and postoperative stages. One support person may stay with the patient, if necessary, up until the procedure begins. Your nurse will inform your support person when it is time to go to the designated waiting area.

How Do I Cancel My Surgery?If you need to cancel your surgery, please contact your surgeon’s office directly.

What Are My Options if I Don’t Have Insurance?For patients without insurance coverage, we offer a self-pay option. The cost for this option is set at the lowest reimbursement rate that The Eye Surgery Center receives from commercial insurance providers for the same procedure. Payment is expected at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. For more information, please contact your surgeon’s office.
